Top controversies in 2014 World Cup

1. Brazil v Croatia: Neymar vs Modric

In a match which saw quite a few controversial moments, this was what started it all. Just before equalising for the Samba warriors in a splendid fashion, Neymar was guilty of deliberately elbowing Luka Modric for which the referee let him go easily as it was only a yellow card. While many commentators believed it should have been a red, Neymar later said there was no 'malice' in the elbow. It did change the result of the match though.

World Cup 2014: Lawro's predictions on Netherlands v Mexico (17:00 BST)

Source BBC Sport:
This one is going to be quite a close call.Mexico coach Miguel Herrera only got the job a few months before the tournament and they limped over the line in terms of qualification. Nobody gave them much of a chance at this World Cup, but they look like a decent team now.The players clearly know how to play Herrera's system, using three centre-backs and wing-backs, and at the heart of it all is the veteran Rafael Marquez, who is a great organiser.
Although the Netherlands have been great so far and won all three games, I am looking at them and thinking that this could be the match where they slip up or, at the very least, do not have things all their own way.The reason I would still tip the Dutch to win, however, is they have got more match-winners than the Mexicans. Arjen Robben or Robin van Persie can make the difference and get them through.Lawro's prediction: 1-0

Kerzhakov: We want to win over our fans

Three-time quarter-finalists and one-time semi-finalists Russia – they finished fourth in 1966 – have endured what must have seemed like an eternal wait to return to the FIFA World Cup™ finals since their last appearance, at Korea/Japan 2002.
